Specialization

The multidisciplinary team focuses on children with speech, voice, and hearing disorders. It specializes in selecting pediatric candidates for cochlear implantation, provides comprehensive care for these patients, and conducts long-term rehabilitation for cochlear implant users. The Phoniatric Department and Cochlear Implant Rehabilitation Center provide the following care for their patients:

  • Phoniatric care: Diagnosis and therapy of communication disorders, provision of hearing aids including custom ear molds, recommendations for compensatory devices.

  • Speech therapy: Rehabilitation of all communication disorders, special educational counseling.

  • Psychological care: Diagnosis, psychotherapy, psychagogy, counseling.

  • Social care: Counseling regarding social benefits and other entitlements.

  • Programming of cochlear implant speech processors: Individual adjustment of speech processors, enabling auditory perception for children with cochlear implants.
